How Often Should I Replace my Printer?

Office Printers

Whilst there is no defined time period when all printers will need replacing, your printer will begin showing you some tell-tale signs should it need to be replaced. At Paw Print Copiers, we have been selling and repairing printers of all makes and models for many years, so have a wealth of experience when it comes to replacing your old printer. In our latest post, we’ll be going over some of the most common signs that you may notice, should your current printer need replacing.

In the modern world, we replace so many of our technical items regularly, including our phones, Ipads, and computers. Your printer is a technological device too and will need replacing if you want to take advantage of the latest developments and printing speeds.

Printers Age

As printers age, you may notice that the number of pages it prints before exhibiting a problem may decrease. Over time, this can not only become extremely frustrating for those using the printer, it can also take its toll on the device and make it unviable for continued use.

In other circumstances, your printer may stop, despite having a full tray of paper to make use of. In some cases, printers may resume printing if the tray load is reduced, this isn’t, however, an efficient way of working.

Printer Lifespan

Sometimes, the first thing someone notices about their printer is the quality of the prints coming out. If your printer is old or suffering a fault, you may notice that the prints come out more blurry than they used to. Whilst this may be ok for internal documents, it won’t cut it for any material being used outside of your business. If the print quality gets too low, any wording on the paper may not be legible.

Overall, the average printer can last anywhere between 4 and 6 years, but this will all depend on how much it is used and the make, model of the device.
